Two LiDAR robots, two philosophies. The eufy X10 Pro Omni is built around its all-in-one station, which empties the dustbin, refills the mop water tank, scrubs the rotating pads, then finishes with a 45°C heated dry cycle so the pads never sit damp. It also brings stronger suction (8,000 Pa vs 6,000 Pa), quieter operation (57–58 dB vs 68 dB), and saved maps for up to five floors of a house. The Roborock S8 counters on exactly two rows of the table: a larger onboard dustbin (400 mL vs 330 mL) and a 44-minute runtime edge (180 min vs 136 min in combined mode). It ships with no auto-empty dock at all.

eufy’s advantages compound in daily use. The extra suction pulls embedded pet hair out of carpet more reliably than the S8’s 6,000 Pa manages, and after each run the bin empties itself into a 2.5 L bag inside the station. Trash trips get rare. Mop upkeep nearly disappears too, since the dock washes the pads and dries them hot after every session. Mopping is where the gap widens most. The dual rotating pads spin at 180 RPM and lift 12 mm when the robot crosses onto carpet, nearly 2.5× the S8’s 5 mm clearance, and that margin is the difference between a dry rug and a damp stripe across it. AI obstacle avoidance trained on 100+ object types steers around cords, shoes, and stray toys without getting stuck, and that reliability matters most in kid-and-pet households where the floor is never actually clear. The 57–58 dB noise floor is quiet enough for a work call or a baby’s nap; the S8’s 68 dB lands closer to a loud conversation. Run it daily and the gap compounds. You do almost nothing. That’s the whole pitch.

Roborock’s case is endurance and simplicity. A 180-minute runtime covers most 2,000–2,500 sq ft floor plans on one charge, something the eufy can’t match in vacuum-and-mop mode, and the 400 mL onboard bin stretches a little further between manual emptyings. The S8 mops differently, too. Its VibraRise plate oscillates at 3,000 vibrations per minute, a scrubbing action that does honest work on tile grout lines and dried-on spills. Different technique from the eufy’s rotary pads, and a good one on hard floors. Weight is a wash at 4.9 kg against the eufy’s 4.56, so don’t let either brand sell you on portability. Years on the market have also earned the S8 a mature ecosystem with broad third-party accessory and replacement-part support. And there’s no bulky station to park, which for a tight kitchen or hallway closet can settle the question by itself.

So which trade matters in your home? If you want the robot to manage itself end to end (clean floors, empty bin, washed pads, dried dock), only the eufy X10 Pro Omni does all of that out of the box. If a big station has no place in your floor plan, or one pass has to finish a large open layout before you get home, the S8 fits better. The 44-minute runtime gap is real, and above roughly 1,800 sq ft it starts deciding the purchase on its own. Below that, it’s a tiebreaker at best.

One nuance before the verdict. The S8’s 5 mm mop auto-lift can leave the pad in contact with low-pile carpet during transitions, and that can mean moisture marks on rugs; the eufy’s 12 mm lift clears them entirely. So homes that mix hardwood with area rugs should lean eufy for the lift height alone. Hate emptying dustbins and rinsing mop pads after every cycle? Same answer. The station covers emptying, washing, and drying on its own, and dry pads never develop that sour-mop smell. The S8 earns the nod when you’re covering 2,000+ sq ft per session, or when the robot runs while you’re away and every minute of charge counts. Either way you get LiDAR navigation and capable mopping from a machine around 10 lbs. Neither robot will embarrass you on bare floors or carpet; the real split lives in what happens after the cleaning run ends, and that’s a chores question more than a hardware one. Buy for the chore you hate most.
