Analysis
Robot vacuums have mostly solved the middle of the room. The fight now happens at the edges and on the long runs, and that’s exactly where these two split. Start with the FlexiArm, because it’s a hardware fix for a real failure mode. Round robots with fixed pads have always cheated at corners, and the residue line along a baseboard is the proof most owners know well. Dual-spinning-mop designs make it worse by leaving a strip of untouched floor between the outer pad and the wall. Fewer recharge-and-resume pauses follow from that headroom, which big-home owners feel every single run. It also stores maps for five floors where the Roborock stops at four, so a three-story townhouse with a basement gets a dedicated map on every level. The mop hardware leans practical too. MopMaster 2.0 lifts its pads 12 mm over carpet, 2 mm higher than the S5V manages, and that margin shows up on thick transition strips and high-pile rugs where a low-riding wet pad leaves drag marks. Its dock even dries the pads with 45°C heated air, against warm-air drying on the Roborock side. Thorough drying matters more than the spec line suggests, because a damp pad sitting overnight is how a dock starts to smell.
Layout decides this more than the spec sheet does. Furniture pushed against walls, floor-level shelving, corners that collect pet hair: that’s S5V territory, and the extending arm earns its keep every cycle. An open plan spread across several levels, or rooms far enough out that a 180-minute robot has to stop and recharge mid-job, plays straight to the eufy. Between runs, neither machine asks much of you. Both docks empty the bin and wash the mops on their own. The dust bags are near-twins as well, with the Roborock’s 2.7 L bag good for around seven weeks and the eufy’s 2.5 L bag rated at about two months. Onboard dustbins are 325 mL and 330 mL. Ignore that row entirely.
Most buyers can settle it with one question: what annoyed you about your last robot vacuum? If the answer is dirty baseboards and corners it never touched, get the Roborock Qrevo S5V.
