The included flat mop handles basic hard-floor damp wiping, something the Q5+ can’t do at all. Where the Q5+ pulls ahead is everywhere except the suction spec sheet. It’s a well-established model with years of third-party reviews and real-world performance data behind it, and that track record buys peace of mind for buyers who’d rather not be an early adopter. Its 470 mL dustbin capacity is openly specified; Dreame doesn’t publish a comparable number for the D20 Air Plus. The Q5+’s 180-minute runtime beats the Dreame’s 150 minutes by half an hour, useful in homes over 1,500 square feet where one charge has to cover several rooms. At 66.2 dB it runs at a noise level the Dreame hasn’t matched in any published spec, and at roughly 3.2 kg it’s a touch lighter and easier to lift for stair carries or dock maintenance.

Timing decides which spec matters more here. If the robot runs while the house sits empty, or the main battle is carpet and pet hair, the D20 Air Plus’s suction edge is worth the unpublished noise figure and shorter runtime. If it runs mid-day with people around, working from home, a napping toddler, a light sleeper down the hall, the Q5+’s 66.2 dB is the only confirmed number in this whole comparison. Dreame’s silence on noise isn’t reassuring. If you’re upgrading from a basic robot and want maximum suction above everything else, the D20 Air Plus is the stronger buy. If you’d rather have a mature, heavily reviewed platform with confirmed noise and runtime numbers, the Q5+ is the safer one. One caveat on the mopping. The D20 Air Plus’s flat-pad system and 280 mL water tank amount to a simple passive wipe, not a sonic or self-cleaning setup. It’ll lift light dust off hard floors, but it won’t touch a dried spill.
