Both of these are LiDAR-guided, self-emptying robots, but they chase different goals. The Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 takes raw cleaning. Its 6,000 Pa suction is 2.2 times the Q5+’s 2,700, it runs 285 minutes against 180, and it throws in a basic mop pad the Q5+ doesn’t have. The Roborock Q5+ plays the comfort card. It runs much quieter at 66.2 dB next to the Dreame’s 79 dB peak, its onboard bin holds 18% more (470 mL to 400), and it maps one extra floor. Which trade matters depends on when you actually run the thing.

Suction is the Dreame’s headline. At 6,000 Pa it drags embedded pet hair and fine grit out of carpet pile that weaker motors skim over. The Q5+’s 2,700 Pa is respectable, just not in the same league. Runtime backs it up. 285 minutes is enough to do a big single-story home in one pass without docking to recharge halfway. The 4-litre bag goes about 90 days before it needs swapping, among the lowest-maintenance auto-empty setups out there. That fixed mop pad won’t replace a real mopping robot, but it does lift light dust and residue off hard floors on the same pass, and the Q5+ does no wet cleaning at all.

Where the Q5+ earns its keep is quiet. The 12.8 dB gap between 66.2 and 79 dB isn’t subtle. On a log scale that’s roughly 2.5 times the perceived loudness. Set it going while you’re working from home, watching TV, or during a nap, and the Q5+ is the obvious pick. Its 470 mL bin also means fewer mid-run stops in messy rooms, and its 4-floor mapping suits a townhouse better than the Dreame’s 3. At about 3.4 kg it’s lighter than the Dreame’s 3.75. You feel that hauling it between floors.

Day to day, the choice gets simple fast. If you run the robot while you’re home, the Q5+’s quieter motor genuinely shows, especially with noise carrying through open kitchens and living rooms. Need maximum runtime to clear a big single floor in one go? The Dreame’s 285-minute battery is the standout number here. The Dreame is also the only one of the two that does any wet cleaning, so if you want light mopping baked in without a second machine, that settles it. And for a home spread across several floors, the Q5+ maps 4 to the Dreame’s 3.

For an apartment or a mid-size home where it runs during the day, the Q5+’s lower volume and bigger onboard bin make it less intrusive to live with. For a large home or a pet household generating heavy debris, the Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 cleans more per run, and it does so without pushing you up to a premium model. One catch applies to both. Neither has a self-cleaning mop. The Dreame’s fixed pad still needs pulling off and rinsing after every wet pass, so if hands-free upkeep is what you’re after, skip both of these and step up to a model that washes its own mop.
