Rear coverage decides everything else here. The DR750X-2CH films front and rear at once; the 422GW only watches the road ahead. Rear-end collisions are among the most common wrecks on public roads. Resolution is the one spec where Nextbase wins outright. Its 1440p beats the DR750X-2CH's 1080p front channel, plain and simple. But that 1080p shoots at 60fps instead of 30, and more frames per second means less blur. A plate on a car passing at highway speed can come out sharper on the lower-resolution file than on the 422GW's higher-res one.

Aperture swings back toward the DR750X-2CH. At f/1.6 against Nextbase's f/2.0, that's a full stop wider, and a full stop roughly doubles the light hitting the sensor under identical conditions. Nighttime is where that shows up. A disproportionate share of accidents happen after dark, and that's exactly when a wider aperture pulls in a brighter, more detailed image while the 422GW's narrower lens comes up short. Pair a capacitor powering the front unit with that wider aperture, and you get a camera built for the conditions that punish dash cams hardest.

Capacitor versus battery is the kind of difference that only shows up after years of ownership, not in a first-week review. The capacitor here tolerates internal temperatures up to 85°C without losing capacity. Nextbase's battery, by contrast, loses capacity over repeated heat cycles, and a closed car in direct summer sun routinely climbs past 70°C inside — that's an ordinary parking lot in July, not some rare edge case. Two to three years in, a battery-powered unit that's baked all summer will start to show it: shorter runtime, slower starts, an occasional dead camera on the one day you needed it. The DR750X-2CH's heat-tolerant power source, paired with its cloud backup, is built to still work the same way years after the warranty runs out. That's the kind of durability spec sheets rarely capture.
