Which part of making coffee do you want help with?
The clearest reason to pay more for a Bambino Plus is automatic milk texturing. If you make lattes and want the machine to manage that step, it offers a relevant convenience. If you enjoy steaming manually or usually drink espresso without milk, start with the features you will use and the full setup price.
Arte is a specific Dedica model
This comparison is for EC885M. De’Longhi identifies its wand as My LatteArt. The earlier page called it a panarello and advised removing a sleeve; that was the wrong basis for this recommendation. “Dedica” alone is not enough to identify the machine in an offer.
Automatic milk does not mean a fully automatic drink
The Bambino Plus manual explains automatic and manual milk operation. You still prepare the portafilter and clean the equipment. If you want a one-button drink from whole beans, neither of these grinder-free machines provides that workflow. If you want to learn espresso but would welcome help with milk, the Plus is a closer fit.
Keep room in the budget and on the counter
Include coffee preparation tools, compatible baskets, milk equipment and any grinder you plan to buy. Leave working space for the jug, handle and water refill rather than judging fit by body width alone. We corrected the tank specifications to 64 fl oz for the Plus and 35 oz for this Dedica Arte.
Do not confuse a pump or warm-up specification with cup quality
Breville advertises a three-second heating-system start, not a finished drink in three seconds. We removed unsupported pressure equivalence, temperature-consistency and larger-portafilter superiority claims. Without a shared coffee, recipe and taste test, this is a workflow comparison rather than a demonstrated espresso-quality ranking.

Does the Dedica Arte use a panarello wand?
The EC885M covered here uses De’Longhi’s My LatteArt steam wand. Our previous text confused it with a different Dedica configuration. Confirm EC885M in the retailer offer before comparing it with other Dedica models.
Do I need to buy a grinder?
Neither machine has one built in. You can start with suitable pre-ground coffee and a basket intended for it, but budget for a suitable espresso grinder if you want to adjust fresh-ground shots. Check the supplied baskets and instructions for the exact kit.
Does the Bambino Plus make a latte in three seconds?
No. Breville’s three-second claim concerns the heating system being ready to start. Preparing coffee, extracting a shot, steaming milk and cleaning take additional time. It is not a measured start-to-finish drink time.
Is Bambino Plus worth more for black coffee?
Its automatic milk feature adds little if you do not use milk. Compare your total setup cost, available space and the controls you need. We have not run a taste or shot-consistency test establishing which produces better espresso.
